Interview with Bernadette LaShoar

Sitting pretty.
Thank you for agreeing to do this interview.
Bernadette Pleasant. Of course.
I'm going to start off with a few of my own questions, and after that
we'll take questions from the readers. Do you mind if we get started?
Bernadette Cute. Not at all...
First of all, what kind of person would you say you are?
Bernadette Perky. Well... you're starting off with the tough ones, aren't you? *chuckle*
Let me see now... how would I describe myself... hmmm...
Bernadette Friendly. I think I'm basically a quiet sort of person. I guess I just like to keep to myself,
and not get too involved in other people's affairs. But I... I try to be a good
person, you know. I don't know what else to say... I hope that's good enough.
Sure, that's fine. Could you describe what it is you do for a living?
Bernadette Cute. There, that's an easier question. Thanks. *chuckle*
Bernadette Pleasant. Well, I'm an arms instructor. I teach people techniques for swordplay. It's really not as fun as it sounds... it's quite a bit of hard work. I've taken on other jobs in the past, such as bodygaurding and such.
Ok... let's take questions from the readers now. This one comes Ben Means, who asks "Why do you have the white streak in your hair?"
Bernadette Warm. You mean this white cloud of hair on my head? That's what my gaurdian used to call it... a 'cloud' of hair. *chuckle.*
Bernadette Friendly. Well... I don't know really, I was just born with it. Once in awhile people are born with odd patterns in their hair... it's not all that uncommon.
Chrissy asks: "How did you get the scar on your left cheek?"
Bernadette Serious. This scar is a rather painful memory for me. I'd rather not go into it, if that's ok?
That's fine. Is it ok if I ask why you didn't get the wound healed magically?
Bernadette Pleasant. At the time there were no healers available. I hear that they can remove scars with sorcery, but I don't want to bother with that.
Bernadette Warm. A certain person has told me that they like the way the scar looks on my face... and that's good enough for me.
Ben Means asks: "How did you meet the nympho... er, uh... I mean, such a talented jester?"
Bernadette Agitated. Excuse me...? Nympho? Is he referring to Maytag?
I beleive so.
Bernadette Upset. Well, I don't know where he got that from, but it's not true.
Bernadette Thoughtful. As for how Maytag and I met... well, it was about 3 years ago, in a little town called Epiphany.
Bernadette Wistful. *sigh* It was late at night, and I was out for a stroll. As I was crossing a bridge, I happened to see a blonde girl sitting there on the railing, crying. I felt sorry for her, so naturally I asked her what was wrong. She told me her boyfriend had broken up with her. As we talked, we discovered there was this sort of.... connection, between us. And we've been friends ever since that day.
Chrissy asks: "How did you build that great tolerance you have to alcohol?"
Bernadette Serious. Well... I've been drinking ever since I was a little girl. I guess it was because... I just needed something to make the pain go away. I'm sorry, I don't really want to ellaborate on that... is that ok?
Sure. Chrissy would like to know: "Who taught you the fighting style of the 'Split Rose'?"
Bernadette Warm. A man from my childhood. He trained me in the art of fighting when I was very young. After he left, I continued to learn and study on my own.
KC asks: "Do you have a love interest?"
Bernadette Clinton. A 'love interest?' Well... I'd rather not say.
Ok. KC also asks: "What about your family?"
Bernadette Wistful. I have no family. My mother died giving birth to me... and I never knew my real father.
Chrissy asks: "Are you sure there is no relation between you and the Knights of LaShoar?"
Bernadette Serious. Yes. LaShoar is not my given family name. It is a named I have taken on... in memory of a friend.
KC would like to know: "What are your favorite types of books?"
Bernadette Friendly. I enjoy all kinds! Romance novels... adventure... biographies of interesting people. My favorite though is mystery novels.
One last question, from Ben Means: "Why does someone who seems so respectable and honorable hang out with such a, ehem, completely irresponsible person?"
Bernadette Perky. Oh, here we go with this Ben fellow again. *chuckle* He seems to have it in for Maytag, doesn't he?
Bernadette Mirthful. Well... to answer your question, Ben... thanks for calling me 'respectable and honorable' by the way... I appreciate that sentiment, although I don't know if I live up to it. Well, in regards to Maytag... I'll admit, at times, she can be very irresponsible.
Bernadette Warm. But if you knew her like I do, I'm sure you'd see her in a different light. In her heart, she's a good person... in fact, she's one of the kindest people I've ever met.
Bernadette Cute. In her own way. *chuckle*
Thanks for doing this interview, Bernadette.
Bernadette Pleasant. Your welcome.
