Ah, Eversummer Eve. One of the best online mangas out there, and yet not enough people seem to know about it. Well... then again, maybe alot do. I'm not too sure. All I know is that I like it... it's hard not to like if you appreciate beautifully drawn artwork.
So, let me try to summarize the story... it's a bit of a daunting task to describe a complex story like this in simple terms, but let me give it a shot. Basically, it centers around two brothers, Griffin and Alasdair, and the conflict between them as they are suddenly thrust into a world of supernatural forces. It almost seems as though these forces are pitting the brothers against each other... in particular, there is a mysterious woman named Juno who seems to be the cause of most of it. Soon, because of her, the brothers and their friends find themselves thrust into another world. Also there is Libra, the main female character. At first, I had thought she would be the main character, but it seems like her role so far has just been to tag along. Perhaps her role will be to act as a moderator between the two brothers. I said the story was complex, but dont let that scare ya. It's really quite easy to follow. The story right now is in chapter 6, but to me it seems as though it's just beginning. It should be interesting to see where it goes from here. Now, how about the art? It's very good for a web-comic... in my opinion, you'll be hard pressed to find such high quality. Not only the characters, but the clothes are wonderfully designed. Like Libra's dancing outfit (pictured below.) And also Alasdair's trenchcoat. Love those designs. Quite honestly, they slap me in the ass and say "you need to draw better clothes." This is good, because I certainly deserve the slap. Anyway. The backgrounds are also very nice, very detailed. Denise Jones is just an all-around great artist. Her character designs are excellent. So, what more can I say? This is a lovely comic that you must check out! Fans of fantasy stories and brooding male characters should especially be pleased! Visit "Eversummer Eve" |
